How can we help?

Answers about practice, readiness, access, payments and your account.

Practice modes

What’s the difference between practice and a timed mock?

Practice is untimed. After you answer a question you can reveal the correct answer and its explanation, one question at a time. You can pause practice and resume it later.

A timed mock works like the real exam. The clock starts when you begin and keeps running on our servers, so a mock can’t be paused. Answers and explanations stay hidden until you finish, and if time runs out your answers are submitted automatically.

A mock’s score counts unanswered questions as incorrect. You pass when your score reaches the exam’s passing score. After a mock you can review every question with its answer and explanation.

What is quick practice?

Ten questions mixed across a certification’s domains, or every question from a set you choose. Quick practice is untimed, and you can see each answer as you go.

How does a targeted drill choose questions?

A drill focuses on one domain you choose, with 5 to 20 questions. It mixes difficulty, leaning toward harder questions, and skips questions you answered in the last 7 days when there are enough others. Drills are untimed, and you can see each answer as you go.

What does Review mistakes include?

Questions whose latest answer in your completed sessions was wrong, up to 20 at a time, from the certifications you can access. Skipped questions don’t count as mistakes. Review is untimed, and you can see each answer as you go.

What is the diagnostic?

A starting check of up to 25 questions from a certification’s question bank, skipping anything you answered in the last 14 days. It’s untimed, you rate your confidence for each answer, and every question must be answered to finish.

The diagnostic doesn’t show correct answers; it sets your starting point for readiness. It can’t be paused: leaving or reloading the page starts a new one.

A checkup is a shorter, 5-question version, offered when your readiness estimate needs more recent activity.

Can I stop and come back later?

Practice sessions save as you go, and you can resume them from Today or Practice while your access is active.

A timed mock keeps running once it has started, and a diagnostic can’t be resumed.

Readiness

What does the readiness estimate mean?

Readiness is a 0–100 estimate of how prepared you are for a certification, based on your practice across all of its question banks you can access. It combines your accuracy (adjusted for question difficulty, with more weight on recent answers), how well you remember questions you answer again days later, how much of each exam domain you’ve covered, your recent timed mocks, and how closely your confidence matches your results.

By default the bands are Not ready (below 40), Building (40–65), Nearly there (65–80) and Exam ready (80 and above).

Why don’t I see an estimate yet?

An estimate appears once there’s enough evidence: answers across the exam’s domains, enough depth in each one, and recent activity. Until then you’ll see that more data is needed. Completing a diagnostic gives you a starting estimate sooner.

Where a range is shown, it narrows as you answer more questions.

How up to date is it?

Readiness updates when you finish a session or a diagnostic, and overnight while you’re active. After 3 days without practice it slowly lowers to account for forgetting, so the estimate reflects what you’re likely to remember now.

Does “Exam ready” mean I’ll pass?

No. Readiness is an estimate from your practice on Dataflakes questions, not the official exam. It doesn’t use the exam’s passing score, and exam content changes over time. Use it to decide what to practice next; it isn’t a guarantee of results.

Access

How long does access last?

Buying a single certification gives you access for 180 days. All Access plans cover every current and future certification for 90 days or 180 days.

Access starts when payment is confirmed. Free certifications need only an account. See Pricing for current plans.

What happens when my access ends?

You can no longer start or resume sessions, reveal answers in unfinished practice, or see readiness for that certification. Sessions you finished stay available for review, and nothing is deleted.

Where can I see what I have and when it ends?

Settings → Access & payments lists each certification you’ve bought, when its access ends, and your payment history.

Refunds

Can I get a refund?

Certification and All Access purchases can be refunded in full within 7 days of purchase. While a purchase is eligible, you can request the refund from Settings → Access & payments. After 7 days, all sales are final (Terms of Service, section 5.3). Refunds can take 5–10 business days to reach you.

AI wallet credit purchases are non-refundable, including unused credits.

Credits

What’s the difference between the AI wallet and SQL Lab credits?

They’re separate balances, bought separately. Topping up one never changes the other.

AI wallet credits pay for personalized AI preparation in the Dataflakes mobile app. Ordinary question-bank practice and reading saved work never use credits. The wallet has a free allowance that resets each period, plus any credits you buy. Purchased credits don’t expire and are non-refundable.

SQL Lab credits pay for AI help inside SQL Lab: AI hints, Explain my query and submission feedback cost 1 credit per request. If a request fails after it’s charged, the credit is returned.

Both are being introduced gradually. If you don’t see them in Settings, they aren’t available on your account yet.

Does buying credits resume a paused AI task?

No. A top-up never resumes a paused task automatically. Choose Resume in the app when you’re ready.

Account

How do I sign in?

Enter your email and we’ll send you a sign-in link. Open it in the same browser you requested it from. You can also continue with Google, GitHub or LinkedIn. No password is needed.

Change between dark and light theme

Dark is the default. To change it, go to Settings → Account and choose Dark or Light under Appearance, or choose Switch to light theme (or Switch to dark theme) in your profile menu. The change applies straight away and is saved to your account, so it follows you when you sign in on another browser.

The public site and sign-in pages always use dark. Exams and the SQL editor always use dark too, for focus.

How do I stop email notifications?

Turn off Email notifications in Settings → Notifications, or use the unsubscribe link in any Dataflakes email.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account and choose Delete account. To confirm, type DELETE and tick both confirmations. Deletion is permanent: your sign-in, practice history, progress and other personal data are deleted, saved payment details at our payment provider are removed, and you’re signed out straight away. If a step is briefly delayed, it finishes automatically shortly after.

Deleting your account doesn’t entitle you to a refund (Terms of Service, section 8.3). For other questions about your data, contact support.
